I previously had a washer that was highly rated and it just did not clean well but also was constantly off balance. This caused a manual invention to complete the load. It was also built with plastic not a stainless tub. I had it barely 6 years. THIS NEW SPEED QUEEN is fabulous! it is a true work horse. It is fast efficient and easy to use. Love it!

Was told that you could open the lid to add clothes - I believed that the washer would continue to fill while doing so but no - everything stops until the lid is closed. When set to " normal Eco" it uses no hot water at all - no matter the wash temperature setting . In the instructions it states that it uses less hot water - I was washing clothes for months thinking that the water temperature was warm . Washer vibrates so much that you can feel it a floor below. In the spirit of full disclosure my wife stated that she liked the washer.

Love the washer BUT I use liquid detergent. I miss being able to open the door and rinse my dispenser out in the running water! Now I'm having to wait for water to fill some and then open it to rinse. Otherwise it runs down the jug and soap on the bottle. This is my only complaint. Wish it was a little bigger tub in ut not too bad. Otherwise it is great.

Up front I have to admit I'm still grieving the loss of my 33 year old Maytag that was a work horse. That said, I'd been researching washers for years for whenever it had to be replaced and I already knew I wanted the SQ TC 500. I was fortunate that there was one open box model available for next day delivery at a reduced price. I've been trying out different wash cycles, water temperatures etc. I have a water softener, so only need 1 Tbsp. of Dr. Bronner's Sal's Suds to do a whole load. Every load has come out nice and clean in a short amount of time. Unlike other reviewers, I did not find the machine to be noisy and it's just off my kitchen. And I appreciate not having a lid lock. I look forward to many years of faithful service.

I bought this washed based on reviews and from a family member's suggestion and I am so disappointed. It doesn't clean my laundry well and if I try to use the center part for fabric softener, I end up with spots all over my laundry. I reached out to the company to see if there was a warranty or satisfaction warranty and they told me to contact the retailer I purchased it from. I will probably be replacing it because I really dislike it. Save your money!

Like the top loader washer instead of front loader. The fabric softener dispenser, even with the "extra rinse" selected, doesn't always clear the machine barrel and it causes a concentrated smell on the clothes. I use very little softener when adding to the machine. Otherwise, the machine works well.

This is the third washing machine we have purchased since December of 2016. The first was a front loading Samsung that lasted three years. The last one was a top loading Westinghouse that lasted about six years. Washing machines should be built to last much longer than that. The reviews say that this machine is not quite. I like to hear my washing machine. That way I know it is working. I like the fact that it balances itself. No more trying to rearrange wet clothes. I like the simple knobs. Most of all I like the fact that my clothes are clean and spun using less laundry detergent.

Best Washer (from someone who does cloth diapers)

Honestly incredible washer. We have it running almost every day multiple times a day. With a family of 4 and doing cloth diapers, we have a lot more laundry than most, and after 2 years with it, it hasn't shown any signs of wear at all. We've had no issues with it, it still looks new, and the wash quality is unmatched from the basic washers we've had before. Nothing beats the old fashioned agitator, I hope they dont stop making this model for that reason alone. Anyway, in the words of the guys who installed it for us when we asked if it was a good washer: "well we only ever install them once and never repair them, so I'd say so".

Bought both the tc5 and dr5 in December. The Tc5 was the biggest mistake. It has the sudsing issue from Day 1, the first load. And I don't want to hear, 'it's the clothing having residue, its too much soap, etc'. I had a brand new load of clothing to wash (just purchased) and I used 1 tablespoon of HE soap and it was sudsing in the standpipe on the heavy duty cycle. I have video if the hose shooting out NOTHING but suds. I then washed a load of brand new bed sheets with 1 tablespoon of HE soap and same thing. I then washed a load of regular clothes I have owned wirh 1 tablespoon of HE soap and same thing. So this is an issue with this machine on heavy duty cycles. I would never recommend this machine to anyone else. What am I supposed to do? Wash clothes with no soap? I mean a tablespoon and its doing this? Unreal. I even tried switching soaps (I tried Tide, Persil, and Purex) but all the same. Once I get more money I will be throwing this machine out.

So much better than the last 4 machines we have gone thru over the past 10 years! Our last Maytag began jumping around with anything over 5 or 6 pieces of laundry in it. Repairs were done but nothing really helped. We trashed it after 2 years and got the Speed Queen. Instead of little squirts of water and inadequate rinsing cycles and 2 hours of waiting between washings, the Speed queen give plenty of water and gets done in 1/2 hour. And no shaking and bouncing around. and it has a 5 year warranty we probably never need. Wife was hesitant to spend the extra money but she loves it now and thinks its the best deal ever!
